Grischa Prömel joins VfB Stuttgart

Grischa Prömel, midfielder of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, joins VfB Stuttgart. The 31-year-old signs a contract until 2029.

Why the move?

VfB Stuttgart has made a super development in the last years. Prömel is very happy that he made the step. The right-footed player said: „That VfB Stuttgart is just a special team for someone who was born in Cannstatt and grew up in Esslingen, I don't need to emphasize that.“

What comes next?

Prömel is the seventh player that VfB has brought from the Kraichgau since 2011. VfB has not been affected by the qualification for the Champions League. Prömel is the oldest player in the VfB squad 2026/27 and meets in the midfield a familiar face: Angelo Stiller has played ten times for Hoffenheim alongside Prömel, before he moved to Stuttgart for 5.5 million euros in 2023.

Current status

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is currently in 5th place in the Bundesliga, with 61 points from 34 games. The Swabians have scored 65 goals and 52 have been defended. They are 28 points behind the leaders Bayern Munich. The last game ended with a 4-0 defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
