TSG 1899 Hoffenheim secured their first Bundesliga win of the season with a 2-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart on 12 September. Adam Hlozek was the hero, scoring both goals for the home side at the PreZero Arena.
The match was open from the start, with chances at both ends. Hoffenheim proved more clinical. Hlozek opened the scoring in the 13th minute, assisted by Bambasé Conté. Stuttgart then missed several clear opportunities to equalise. Commentator Tom Bartels noted, "VfB vergibt zu viele Chancen, Hlozek belohnt Hoffenheim gegen Stuttgart."
Stuttgart hit back briefly
Maximilian Mittelstädt pulled Stuttgart level in the 48th minute after the break. Hoffenheim did not let that setback disrupt them. Hlozek struck again in the 67th minute, finishing from an Adam Daghim pass to restore the lead. The TSG defended their advantage solidly until the final whistle.
This result lifts Hoffenheim to 13th place in the Bundesliga table with three points from three matches. Their goal difference stands at minus one, having scored six and conceded seven. The team's next fixture is away to 15th-placed SC Paderborn 07 on 20 September. The full schedule is available on the fixtures page, while squad details can be found in the squad section.
